A BRIEF HISTORY: The Bondi United club was formed in 1946 by ex- serviceman looking to play Rugby League as a means of maintaining friendship. Since this humble beginning the club has had a proud and successful history. Many outstanding players have passed through the clubs ranks including internationals Ferris Ashton, Kevin Junee, John Mayes and John Peard, as well as recent Sydney City Roosters star Luke Ricketson. Bondi United is the most successful Roosters junior club with 17 club championships.
COMMITMENT: When joining a football club you are involved in a team sport. It is expected in order that kids learn their sport that they train, and in order for the team to take the field, that they play. The club requires commitment from all members, as all Coaches and Committee are volunteers and give up their time for the children. Any child who cannot make a training session or a game should notify the coach in advance if possible. The season is approximately 14 – 18 weeks in length. There are no games during Easter weekend or Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend, however games are played during School Holidays. Children are expected at games at least 1/2 hour prior to kickoff so they can warm up and get their game instructions. Unless notified all games are ON when raining.
REGISTRATION: When you register with Bondi United you will pay a Membership Fee. New players to the club will also be required to register with the South Sydney Juniors Competition before you can take the field of play. The club will inform you when you need to register at Souths.

PLAYING GEAR: When you register at Bondi United, you will be fitted out for your football jumper, shorts and socks. These are at no cost to you and you get to keep them at the season’s end.
Mouthguard: is essential and no child allowed take to the field without one.
Headgear: is recommended but not essential and can be purchased from around $25 -$40
Mini League players can only wear “Moulded Sole” football boots,
Mod and International players can wear metal screw in studs or blades.
INSURANCE & MEDICAL: All players are covered by Sydney Roosters Junior League Insurance Policy.
All players must report injuries to the Team Manager immediately. The Team Manager must complete an Injury Report Form and forward to the Club Secretary ASAP, The Team Manager must also provide the Injured Player with a Sports Injury Claim Form which MUST be returned to the Club Secretary within 14 Days of the date of the injury.
COACHES: All coaches at Bondi United have the minimum requirement of Level 1 Coaching Certificate.
SAFEPLAY CODE: The Safeplay Code was developed with an emphasis on SAFETY and GOOD CONDUCT within the game of Rugby League.
The Code is designed to provide the best possible on-field environment for the junior game of Rugby League by actively promoting control over undesirable actions.
It has been introduced for all players up to and including the under 15 age group.
